{Day Dreamer} Mint, Emerald and Gold

Dear Shahzadis,

It’s been a while since I wrote a Day Dreamer post.  One where I find you inspiration for an ENTIRE wedding following something that inspired me.  Well Shahzadis, today’s post is an ode to a few colour shades that have been stuck in my mind…

A Shahzadi Affair

A Shahzadi Affair

If I were getting married, say in the spring… this would be my colour palette.

First thing’s first, I would want to create a whimsical feeling.  Mint and gold are hues that beg a soft touch. Therefore, designing an invitation that uses filigree and scroll work is a perfect!

My invitations would look something like this:

If you’re the Shahzadi that is more daring and fun loving, consider something along the lines of Love Paper and Ink‘s wonderful Kate Spade inspired series:

This cake…. <3 I love all the frilly details grounded by the deep rich emerald!

My Ladies would be wearing something along the lines of…

mint bridesmaids elie sharp

I know… Ellie Saab. I would feel like a princess <3

The groom’s fine details..

The groom at his best

in bridal, I have a thing for this Satya Paul creation:

If you are a white dress kind of a bride, consider wearing a showstopper necklace like Mila, here:

For dinner I would have my guests dining on tables set in this manner

emerald goodness

or even this table setting might be nice, my mom and I would need to discuss this in great detail to figure out which I wanted…

or maybe I would get both.  Half the tables would be set in Emerald tableware and the other half in mint, all of course, accented with gold! :)

OMG Ladies, I might have to change my cake! LOOK at this BEAUTY!

What do you think? Which cake would you pick?

Okay back to the rest of the inspiration…

favours you ask?
I know this is corny… but i also think it’s witty… but what about after dinner “mints”

Favour Idea...this would be really cute bc after dinner mints are chris' favorite

Oh dear, I love weddings… and this would be one of those lovely soft, yet striking wedding themes!

Thank you ladies, once again for day dreaming with me… See my other Day Dreamer Post {HERE}

The Pantone Colour of Spring 2013~ Monaco Blue

Shahzadis,

Pantone just announced their spring colour prediction of the year for 2013! At first I was not really astounded by this colour… at least not like I was by my Tangarine Tango obsession like [HERE or HERE or HERE]!  But than I got to looking around and I was floored by how amazing this hue can look incorporated into a wedding.  At first it seems to be a duller brother to Royal Blue, but as you take a look at this colour you can appreciate that it would be an amazing shade used to ground a colour theme.

The sapphire lends a royal touch to this baroque style cuff.  Perhaps a piece a bride wearing white might consider as her “something blue”.

Monaco Blue Ombre Cake, Style Me Pretty

Doing a Monaco Blue cake takes a bit of a daring bride.  After all, it is going to be a focal point at the wedding.  Doing this hue in an ombre technique allows it to be understated so the risk of being dull is a minimum.

If you really want to showcase Monaco Blue in your wedding, consider outfitting our bridesmaids in this amazing colour that will not only flatter any figure but work with a multitude of skintones!

Perhaps you, my dear Shahzadi, are looking for a unique colour to don for your Sangeet, or a pre-wedding function (we know how many of them pop up throughout the duration of your engagement)  This may be the colour for you… <3

All said and done, you most definitely don’t have to be getting married to be wearing Monaco Blue…  The way I’m wearing it is… on my nails :P

My head is just spinning looking for opportunities to showcase the potential of this colour! I can’t wait to put together some more posts throughout the year showcasing Monaco Blue…

Flowers fit for a Shahzadi

Dear Shahzadis

The sun is shining and spring is here! What comes when spring is here?

FLOWERS!

For most brides flowers are an essential part of their wedding. I think that flowers are a classic way to creat romance and ambiance. They are the quintessential wedding decor. Choosing flowers can get really overwhelming. I recommend really sifting through bridal magazines and blogs to see what kind of look really speaks to you. Once you have figured out the look you are interested in, check out the florists around you to see what kind of flowers are in season, when you will be tying the knot. Some flowers are much more affordable when they are in season, or else there are a variety of costs (such as transportation, storage and maintenance) that will be included in the cost of out of season flowers.

Incorporating flowers that are in season will add more meaning to your wedding date. I truly believe that every detail of your wedding, including flowers in season play a part in portraying the total look of your wedding…

Spring Flowers

Tulips

Hyacinths

My personal favorite: Pionies

roses... the classic

Some brides want to incorporate florals in a BIG way! Check out how beautiful the table looks with flowers galore. It is over the top but still elegant as they used flowers in the same colour family.

This setup is definitely fit for a Shahzadi!

The Design House

Bright coloured florals can really add punches of fun personality to a classy and formal table scape.

Mandaps are a great place to showcase your florals! Not only are they pretty, they are an homage to the traditional ceremonies that we experience in Bangladesh, India, and Pakistan!

A simple way to incorporate florals without blowing the budget is to do small doses of flowers.

Maybe just bouquets for yourself and your bridesmaids, at the head table or backdrop, incorporated into a maybe a floral runner …

Wow all this inspiration is making me want to go out flower picking!! Hope this post was full of useful inspiration and information!
