~Thank you for being a part of our story…

When I started this blog, I only thought that my only followers would be my Mom and Dad (he follows the blog.. can you believe that?) and my little sister… and although they are regular supporters of my wild and crazy antics (I use “wild and crazy” VERY loosely!) I never imagined that my friends would read this blog and that I would ACTUALLY meet new people through this platform! Today I want to thank the little community we have created! Thank you SOOOO much for all the LOVE and SUPPORT that you have given me and my new business and blog.  We have 200 followers on the blog today!

I love saying thank you.  I think that any event is incomplete without a “thank you”.  I think it is important to think of all the people that are going to be standing with you as you say your vows, blow out your birthday candles or open your shower presents.  There is nothing like a little token or a note to say that each guest is an integral part of their big day!

Here are some ideas that I think are just fantastic!

How many of you played with cootie catchers as kids?  Well now, you can give back the joy of this fun break time game to the your guests! Inside the cootie catcher are little questions and facts about the bride and groom and they can be used as a form of entertainment for guests to get to know the others sitting at their table!

Another great little favour/ game

These crosswords are custom made and are genuine crosswords that you would find in the newspaper.  I think this can also double as a wedding game, played throughout the wedding/shower and the first one to finish it would win a prize!

Something I came across when I went to a wedding show recently is SEED PAPER! YA.. give a thank you note that GIVES BACK! All you have to do is plant the card and come summer, beautiful flowers grow in reminder of your loved one’s special day!

I know a lot of people think that favours are a waste of money… and they can be.. if you buy something you KNOW your guests are really not going to be interested in… the way to counter that is FOOD! Little nibblers make great favours and your guests try something new, or an old favourite or something that undoubtedly part of the couple’s personality!

Macaroons

I think a little bit of thinking and creativity, you can make inexpensive favours look like a million bucks!  Packaging has tons to do with it!

Wrap it up nicely or add a personalized tag and your favours go from ordinary to… a little piece of you!

and my personal favourite and probably the cutest thing EVER! Hot chocolate mix in regular icing piping bags with a label on it!

I wanna DIY this NOW!!!

makes saying Thank you that much more sweet <3

Thank you, once again to everyone who takes the time out to read the blog!!

Please leave me your comments/criticisms! It would make my day to kn ow what you think, and help me improve what I offer you all!

Flowers fit for a Shahzadi

Dear Shahzadis

The sun is shining and spring is here! What comes when spring is here?

FLOWERS!

For most brides flowers are an essential part of their wedding. I think that flowers are a classic way to creat romance and ambiance. They are the quintessential wedding decor. Choosing flowers can get really overwhelming. I recommend really sifting through bridal magazines and blogs to see what kind of look really speaks to you. Once you have figured out the look you are interested in, check out the florists around you to see what kind of flowers are in season, when you will be tying the knot. Some flowers are much more affordable when they are in season, or else there are a variety of costs (such as transportation, storage and maintenance) that will be included in the cost of out of season flowers.

Incorporating flowers that are in season will add more meaning to your wedding date. I truly believe that every detail of your wedding, including flowers in season play a part in portraying the total look of your wedding…

Spring Flowers

Tulips

Hyacinths

My personal favorite: Pionies

Summer Flowers

Rose & Calla Lily

Celosia done three ways

roses... the classic

Some brides want to incorporate florals in a BIG way! Check out how beautiful the table looks with flowers galore. It is over the top but still elegant as they used flowers in the same colour family.

This setup is definitely fit for a Shahzadi!

Bright coloured florals can really add punches of fun personality to a classy and formal table scape.

Mandaps are a great place to showcase your florals! Not only are they pretty, they are an homage to the traditional ceremonies that we experience in Bangladesh, India, and Pakistan!

A simple way to incorporate florals without blowing the budget is to do small doses of flowers.

Maybe just bouquets for yourself and your bridesmaids, at the head table or backdrop, incorporated into a maybe a floral runner …

Wow all this inspiration is making me want to go out flower picking!! Hope this post was full of useful inspiration and information!
