{Day Dreamer} Mint, Emerald and Gold

Dear Shahzadis,

It’s been a while since I wrote a Day Dreamer post.  One where I find you inspiration for an ENTIRE wedding following something that inspired me.  Well Shahzadis, today’s post is an ode to a few colour shades that have been stuck in my mind…

A Shahzadi Affair

A Shahzadi Affair

If I were getting married, say in the spring… this would be my colour palette.

First thing’s first, I would want to create a whimsical feeling.  Mint and gold are hues that beg a soft touch. Therefore, designing an invitation that uses filigree and scroll work is a perfect!

My invitations would look something like this:

If you’re the Shahzadi that is more daring and fun loving, consider something along the lines of Love Paper and Ink‘s wonderful Kate Spade inspired series:

This cake…. <3 I love all the frilly details grounded by the deep rich emerald!

My Ladies would be wearing something along the lines of…

mint bridesmaids elie sharp

I know… Ellie Saab. I would feel like a princess <3

The groom’s fine details..

The groom at his best

in bridal, I have a thing for this Satya Paul creation:

If you are a white dress kind of a bride, consider wearing a showstopper necklace like Mila, here:

Mila in emeralds

For dinner I would have my guests dining on tables set in this manner

emerald goodness

or even this table setting might be nice, my mom and I would need to discuss this in great detail to figure out which I wanted…

or maybe I would get both.  Half the tables would be set in Emerald tableware and the other half in mint, all of course, accented with gold! :)

OMG Ladies, I might have to change my cake! LOOK at this BEAUTY!

What do you think? Which cake would you pick?

Okay back to the rest of the inspiration…

favours you ask?
I know this is corny… but i also think it’s witty… but what about after dinner “mints”

Favour Idea...this would be really cute bc after dinner mints are chris' favorite

Oh dear, I love weddings… and this would be one of those lovely soft, yet striking wedding themes!

Thank you ladies, once again for day dreaming with me… See my other Day Dreamer Post {HERE}

Oxblood Obsession ~ A Look at Fall’s Most Luxurious Shade of Red!

Dear Shahzadis:

I am totally OBSESSED! Completely in LOVE with this fall shade! I have always been a fan of red.  But obsessed, I was not.  Until this lovely colour caught my eye and captivated me.

Glamour calls this hue the older bad-ass cousin of red, and I couldn’t agree more!  But don’t be put off by the name of this hue as Oxblood is not referring to the blood of an Ox, but rather describes the colour of Oxygenated blood.

LOOK AT IT!! <3

It is such a rich saturated tone! A colour I think that could be incorporated into a wedding with such ease, which would add a lot of glamour to a colour palette!

Oxblood Cocktails

A Cranberry Pomegranate cocktail would be a striking option to add to your bar offerings, as your signature drink.  It’s a small but delicate way to add this colour into your palette!

Oxblood Bouquet By Viedka

another striking way to incorporate Oxblood is in your bouquet.  You want to keep it monochromatic for maximum impact like you see in the above image.  This works best worn with a white dress, or a gold lehnga/saree!

Rocky S.

I am Loving this amazing style of empire waist ed churidar Salwar Kameez! Imagine being a bridesmaid wearing something like that! BAAM! What a showstopper!  Rocky S. is blowing currently blowing this Shahzadi’s mind. Thank you very much!

Oxblood Evening Gown

Again, mind blown!

Moving on ladies.. I have so much inspiration to share with you…

Oxblood and Gold

What a bold way to add this colour to your next celebration! Put your cake on a pedestal and dress it in Oxblood! It’s a perfect way to add a baroque feel, which is super popular for south Asian weddings.

Oxblood Loubutins

Treat your feet to the ultimate in Luxury as you slip into these puppies… Imagine the pop of colour under a cream dress or saree… <3 The perfect wedding shoe.

Okay ladies… What’s that? Not getting married? So what? Add Oxblood into your wardrobe by wearing in on you wrists <3

Oxblood Cuff

Or… pucker up for a sultry look

Oxblood Lipstain

Or my personal fave is… get some oxblood nail polish… (I’m a bit obsessed with buying polish)

Oxblood Nails

The great thing is this colour is also VERY flattering on the Man in your life… My Hubzter is shockingly into incorporating this colour into his life..

I would die if he came home wearing an oxblood coat.  How Moody and Sophisticated!

Oxblood for Men

right ladies… I need to go shopping!

The Pantone Colour of Spring 2013~ Monaco Blue

Shahzadis,

Pantone just announced their spring colour prediction of the year for 2013! At first I was not really astounded by this colour… at least not like I was by my Tangarine Tango obsession like [HERE or HERE or HERE]!  But than I got to looking around and I was floored by how amazing this hue can look incorporated into a wedding.  At first it seems to be a duller brother to Royal Blue, but as you take a look at this colour you can appreciate that it would be an amazing shade used to ground a colour theme.

Vintage Jewelry Designs

The sapphire lends a royal touch to this baroque style cuff.  Perhaps a piece a bride wearing white might consider as her “something blue”.

Monaco Blue Ombre Cake, Style Me Pretty

Doing a Monaco Blue cake takes a bit of a daring bride.  After all, it is going to be a focal point at the wedding.  Doing this hue in an ombre technique allows it to be understated so the risk of being dull is a minimum.

If you really want to showcase Monaco Blue in your wedding, consider outfitting our bridesmaids in this amazing colour that will not only flatter any figure but work with a multitude of skintones!

Lehnga by Anita Dongre

Perhaps you, my dear Shahzadi, are looking for a unique colour to don for your Sangeet, or a pre-wedding function (we know how many of them pop up throughout the duration of your engagement)  This may be the colour for you… <3

All said and done, you most definitely don’t have to be getting married to be wearing Monaco Blue…  The way I’m wearing it is… on my nails :P

OPI

My head is just spinning looking for opportunities to showcase the potential of this colour! I can’t wait to put together some more posts throughout the year showcasing Monaco Blue…

OMG. I *HEART* South Asian Clothes!

OMG Shahzadis! I’ve set a record- 2 blog posts in ONE DAY!

*GASP* Leap day is helping me out! YAY!

So the day has been pretty uneventful and the dreary weather in my neck of the woods is not helping my case.  So, to brighten my day… I went online to look at lovely clothing! This morning I was doing a post on the Pantone Fall 2012 Colour Trend report and when I was looking at these beautiful south Asian outfits, I was pleasantly surprised to see so many different outfits following the colour trends that are SO hot right now!

I was surfing my fave online south Asian boutique… the unfortunate thing is they only ship in the US. So I only really gather inspiration from them. But if you live in the States check out Exclusively.in <– *LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT ALLERT*

Here are some amazingly simple yet BEAUTIFUL clothing!!

so elegant! no?

Imagine going to a Holud in the Salwar Kameez or a Wedding in the Saree! the Saree is a headturner FOR SURE!

This is a casual Saree I would wear to a post wedding dinner or casual event! It’s a bold colour but it works on a variety of skin tones!

Pantone Olympian Blue

This colour is so flattering for south Asian clothing because it works so well with heavy embroidery and fabrics like brocade.

Pantone Pink Flambé

Pink Flambe is my OBSESSION! I love this colour! It’s FUN, and LOUD, just like a sangeet you could wear it to!

Pantone Tangerine Tango

ditto, this tangerine tango is dancing around in my head! MUST GET NOW!

Pantone Ultramarine Green

Naturally I would not like this colour… but I love they way the colour is used in both peices!

Pantone Rose Smoke

*killing me softly… * *in heaven*

Pantone Titanium

This saree is super modern and ready to be worn to a party!

I love how it not only incorporates the Titanium Grey but also animal print!

I hope this post inspired you to encorporate some of the hot colours of the year into your wardrobe this wedding season!

I know you’ll knock’em dead Shahzadis!

Leap into Colours by Pantone Fall 2012 Trend Report

HAPPY LEAP DAY! SHAHZADIS!

For those of you planning your weddings/events, you have an extra day of planning to get things perfect!! *YAY*

An event is a reflection of its host.  We all know this.  When you are planning an event my Shahzadis, the first place you should start is a theme.

Themes could simply be a colour combination.  Pantone came out with their hottest colour trends report for Fall 2012 and the colours are FANTASTIC!

Can you imagine a  Pink Flambe and Tango Tangerine combination?  It can be done for a ceremony or even a bridal shower or Mehndi <3 *LOVE*

Another colour I am just loving is Chartreuse!  You can center an entire event around this colour if you are feeling really bold, or use pops of this colour around your event.  Both applications are just amazing!

Image from Ready2Spark

A really pretty colour combo for a Nikkah is using Blush tomes.. like the colour Rose Smoke

Image from Aylee Bits

These colours are what’s hot right now. but remember… this event is yours and it should be what you want to see out of it! Make sure that you love your colour palette as it will be immortalized in the pictures for years to come.  I hope I was able to get those juices flowing! Let’s use this extra day in the year to get some solid planning done!
