All that Glitters…

 Dear Shahzadis
The best part of the holidays is the fact that everyone is in such a festive mood. When I think of festive I think of things that make you smile. I think of the effort we put into making those around us happy, by decorating the home, baking, spending time with our families. But when I think of festive, I think of….
GLITTER!!!!
It just makes you so happy and injects FESTIVE into your blood. Although I can find an excuse to incorporate glitter into any aspect of my life, I think that the holidays is the best excuse to have glitter and bling all around you. The following is a collection of glittery, glimmery, bling that I’ve been coveting!
Do you have a collection of vintage broaches? Bracelets? This wreath is the perfect way to create an heirloom piece that could be put together using pieces of your own wardrobe, your mother’s or your grandmother’s.. The great thing about this wreath is that you could build on it each year with all sorts of jewellery!
The previous idea is definitely a shows topper, and the effort is totally worth it, but it is on the more labour intensive side! Should you not have that much time to invest into a project consider the idea above where a simple mason jar has been transformed into a super fun and festive decor element in as little as ten minutes. Modge Podge and craft glitter are used to create these amazing votive holders!
The same idea is done here with branches! Love this look! Super cute and quick way to spruce up an entryway. Fill an urn with glitzy branches and place by the front door. Or fill a vase and add it to your side table in the living room! It’s an instant festive face-lift!
A really simple way to incorporate metallics and glitter into your holiday decor scheme is to add modern details like this!
One of the cutest trends I have seen recently is the use of paper garlands! My personal fave is the sewn paper garland. You could get a similar effect by hole punching and threading twine through the metallic paper.
When I saw that you could buy edible glitter, I went a little crazy! Eating glitzy sugar cookies would make me feel so luxe I would forget about calories! So not only can you give your home a festive touch with glittering events, you can have your glitz and EAT it too! For a surprising twist to your dessert table, consider having edible glitter put on your fave holiday cookie!
Now that I have put a little sparkle in your eyes, I’m going to leave you here as I head out to find me a glittery cookie while I go through my mom’s jewellery box for a broach to start my glam wreath!!
Let me know what you like to do to incorporate a little sparkle into your holiday decorating and entertaining!
Thank you so much for dropping by!!
