Timeless Bridal Shower~ Old Bollywood Style

Okay Shahzadis I just HAD to post today!

I actually wanted to get this post online yesturday but real life took over and I couldn’t bask in my proverbial princess glory.

Here’s an idea for you! I know, if I had thought of it earlier, it would have been something I would have done! Why oh why did I not think of this before?? Beats me… Oh well…

So for all my shahzadis’ that want to do something super unique… Why not do a bridal shower with a theme and then have a professional photographer do a photoshoot?? This lovely shoot by Amna Hakim features a Old Bollywood Glamour …

I loved this shoot that she did and I was inspired to think of out of the box way to incorporate this theme into a wedding.  then I thought, wouldn’t it be super cool to have all my girls to dress up in my fave era and take professional photos? It’s a great thing to add to a bridal shower.  and the photos make for a great keepsake for you to keep of all your girls.

A Canvas for your Wedding ~ Ceremony Backdrops

It’s the middle of the day and all I can think about are ceremony backdrops!

*I know.. it can be a little lame* but you love me.. so you understand..

I love everything about designing backdrops! The backdrop is the canvas for the night.  Everything that happens during your event will be photographed against it.  You may think that selecting a backdrop is easy… but its not.  There are a few things you should consider…

This the first major piece of decor that your guests will see.  This is often the largest element in your wedding.  Whether it’s a simple aisle or a extravagant work of art, it is the one thing that sets the tone for many other elements in the wedding.

So Shahzadis, I give you a little bit of eye candy and some food for thought… as you all try to figure out the kind of look you all want for your events.  I am focussing on the ceremony part of the wedding… my next post will talk more about reception backdrops.

you caught me. this is the backdrop from my wedding… the inspiration for this post. *couldn’t resist*

When you are considering a backdrop, think about whether you need a mandap or just a flat backdrop.  There are diverse options for both.  Mandaps are very beautiful if you want to maintain a traditional vibe to your wedding.  There is just something about sitting at a mandap while the Punditji is reciting his prayers.

As you can see, this mandap is playing up the simplicity and its such a beautiful addition and cost effective as it hasn’t got a lot of moving parts.

For the brides who have watched Devdas one too many times… here is a MAGNIFICENT mandap…

Here is a beautiful ceremony setup that it perfect for a western style wedding…

And then there are venues that are so BEAUTIFUL, you dont need a backdrop!!

Maharani Weddings

So my Shahzadis, there are variety of ways you can go with your ceremony.  The idea is that, whatever you end up going with… should be something deeply rooted in you… only them can it really be a reflection of you and your prince.  What you protray should be YOU.

Good luck,

Happy Planning <3
